Humble Hero
Now and then, you come across one of those humble heroes who has been quietly trying to support himself and those around him with minimum resources available. That is what Agaton has been doing for most of his life, whose younger brother was rescued from the street and is currently being cared for in the Centre of Hope. Agaton has a mobility disability that prevents him from doing various kinds of work, but he set up a small fresh meat stall close to where he lives. Day in and day out, Agaton not only supports himself from the sales of his business, but he also cooks for his family and others for free who cannot afford to eat.
When we met Agaton and learned more about his situation, we discovered that a small boost to his business would enable him to expand and better care for his family.
Agaton continues to cook meat for his local community, whilst providing for the most vulnerable around him.

Marbella and Africa: maintaining a life-saving connection
Veronika Tye’s was certainly one of the biggest smiles at last week’s opening of the Collective Calling charity shop in San Pedro Alcántara.
An ambassador for the Marbella-based charity for the last two years, Veronika is originally from the Czech Republic. She lived in Cambridge, England, for ten years, before moving to the Costa del Sol with her husband Martin and their three children five years ago. She already had a holiday home in southern Spain although the decision to settle permanently in Marbella was driven by the weather, a more outdoor lifestyle for the children, the friends she already had here and the renowned international schools in the area.

Food Assistance Program
Here is a comment (and pictures) made by the friend of a volunteer (Audrey) of Collective Calling following the afternoon she had helping with the distribution of food assistance packs to the local community:“Yesterday Me and My Lovely Friend of many many years Audrey delivered all this food and essential items to some of the loveliest and poorest people I have ever met in my life

many of them were homeless living in derelict buildings and unfinished building sites or under the boardwalk, others had been affected by illness or left to care for their sick family and to live on nothing! Mother’s with Babies and Children Starving

as a mother and a human being this was unbelievably sad to see some of these people were highly respected, intelligent, hard working people who lived lives like u and I before their circumstances left them in this unfortunate position”.Thank you to our sponsor for the food assistance program, who wishes to be kept anonymous, you are appreciated and truly a blessing and to everyone of our volunteers who helps make this happen!
